Are either Emily or Andreas allowed to allocate income to a community spouse?

No, neither Emily nor Andreas are allowed to allocate income to a community spouse because neither has a community spouse.

To Do: Take a minute to look at Emily’s MA-LTC Case Checklist (DHS-5590). When allowing the community spouse allocation, you can select the checkbox found on the "LTC Income Calculation" line of the "Income Calculation" section. The line allows you to track when income and expenses are verified and if the allocation is being made available.

Which of your other LTC training cases might a community spouse income allocation be allowed?

If Padma did not have the transfer penalty, she may have been eligible for MA-LTC using an LTC income calculation, because she is SIS-EW. When her ineligibility period has expired, she may be able to use a community spouse allocation because she will use an LTC income calculation if Aman continues to be her community spouse.

Isabella and Sinclair are not allowed a community spouse income allocation because they are using a community income calculation to determine their obligation.
